This is a classic treat with a bitter twist to warm you up and unwind.
MAKES 1
½ teaspoon raw or granulated sugar
1 dropper of Ginger Bitters
2 ounces rye whiskey
Garnish: Orange peel and or Maraschino cherry (for serving; optional, but encouraged)
Step 1
Stir sugar, bitters, and 2 tsp. warm water in a rocks glass until most of the sugar is dissolved. Take an orange peel and rub it along the rim of the glass. This adds another a wonder fresh citrus element to the cocktail.
Add 3 ice cubes or one large fancy ice cube and pour rye over. Stir 20 seconds to chill cocktail and dilute whiskey. Garnish with orange peel and cherry, if using.
