A friend just sent us a link to an article about the fast food chain and their plans to add CBD to a burger on 4/20. While I try to unwrinkle my brow and wipe the confusion off my face, let’s return to the starting line.
CBD and You
Your body makes cannabinoids that mirror the cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. Namely, CBD. The cannabinoids in your body engage with your endocannabinoid system to balance and regulate inflammation, pain and stress. Your skin also has its very own endocannabinoid system and requires cannabinoids to function optimally. When not optimal, redness, eczema, psoriasis, premature aging and inflammation are present.
In order for your body to produce the cannabinoids that your endocannabinoid systems require, you need a healthy diet rich in Omega 3s and 6s. You also need to sleep well, stress less and exercise. Most people respond well to CBD because the modern world does not always support our healthy efforts.
CBD oil when taken sublingually (under the tongue) and allowed to dissolve into the frenulum membrane (located under the tongue) will work to kick start your endocannabinoid system which will in turn aim you towards homeostasis and well-being. Applying CBD topically will urge your skin’s endocannabinoid system to balance. Thank you CBD for the nudge we need at times.
As we prepare to celebrate the cannabis plant this 4/20, know with all your heart that eating a fast food burger with CBD will not point you in the direction of well-being. If you want to eat a fast food burger with CBD, fine. Eat it because you like the burger and the novelty, not because you think it will make you healthier.
