The Benefits of MCT Oil

When it comes to the ingredients and suppliers for our products, we put a lot of thought into it. Both Desi and I place tremendous value on sustainable sources, quality ingredients and the well-being for our customers. That is why we chose to use Organic MCT oil in both of our CBD tinctures Balance and Enhance.

What is MCT Oil?

MCT stands for medium-chain triglyceride. MCT oil contains medium-length chain triglycerides. A triglyceride is fat and when ingested triglycerides are transported into cells and burned for energy or stored as body fat. Unlike the commonly found long-chain triglycerides found in many foods which are not as easily absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract, medium-chain triglycerides are considered easily digestible and beneficial fats.

Benefits of MCTs

The benefits of MCT Oil are plenty. MCTs are processed in the liver which means that they enter your cells without being broken down and provide fast and sustained energy. The instant source of energy can also be used to fuel your brain.¹

MCTs may offer special benefits for those struggling with hormone imbalance. There is also research suggesting that medium chain fats may be beneficial for maintaining a healthy weight by helping balance hormones and improving insulin sensitivity.²

MCTs have antiviral and antibacterial properties and there is evidence that they may help balance gut bacteria and combat pathogenic bacteria.³

Coconut oil and MCTs have been shown to reduce the growth of Candida albicans by 25%.⁴

MCT oil is gluten-free, keto and paleo friendly.

The MCT oil we source for our CBD tinctures is made from certified organic coconuts and formulated with no filler oils, chemicals or additives.

A note of caution: MCT oil when taken in excess of 2 tablespoons a day can lead to fat build up in the liver although additional studies are required to confirm this.

Bottom Line

MCT oil offers plenty of benefits and when combined with the health advantages of CBD, the result invites your whole body to a place of homeostasis and well-being. Balance and Enhance are both available for purchase online. Or, connect with us about stockists near you.
